Dja Mblai

The dja mblai is a transverse blown single pipe free reed of the Hmong people of Laos, with versions in Vietnam often referred to as Meo sao (Hmong flutes). These are also related to the pi joom of Thailand and the bawu of southern China. Versions shown here have been collected in Thailand and Vietnam.
